Research

Relevant research with practical applications

We lead and support research into aspects of community development in areas of our expertise, including health, human rights, education, environmental sustainability, political economy, governance and participatory community engagement. Our approaches include building the capacity of and working alongside community advocates to conduct research about issues that affect their lives.

We have experience in both leading and supporting research in areas of health, social mobilization, stigma and discrimination, civic processes and environmental sustainability in a variety of contexts. We also specialise in an “intersectional” approach to understanding different layers of identity and the power dynamics within and between communities according to age, gender, race, sexual orientation, HIV status and religion among other variations.

We develop, pilot and refine research protocol and data collection tools and undertake ethical review to acquire approval from national and institutional bodies as appropriate. Our team are established analysts of data generated from both quantitative and qualitative methods.
