Thank you for your donation.
In 2016, so far 70% of the funds raised for the scholarship program has come from the generosity of people like you. S0, thank you sincerely for your support of the Watipa scholarship program.
The first round of scholarships closed on 2 November 2016. We had 124 applications from 14 countries around the world (Burundi, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, India, Kenya, Malawi, Myanmar, Nepal, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Uganda and Zimbabwe).
There is clearly a huge demand for funding opportunities like the Watipa scholarships, that directly support young people within their own countries. Our scholarship fund is flexible and tailored to respond to the specific financial needs of the different students. This means that your money is spent effectively and also that the students are awarded something that is meaningful for their situation.
The first scholars will be awarded on 10 December 2016, International Human Rights day. We have committed to awarding at least 10 in the first round – and with your help, we may now be able to increase that. Thank you for your support.
Spread the word to help us support as many young people to achieve their dreams as we can.
