Would you like to gain more experience with a dynamic, nimble, ethical, intelligent and worthwhile charity?

If you answered yes to these questions – or know someone inspirational who could – please get in touch. Watipa is looking for a dynamic, experienced, visionary and responsible person to join the Board of Trustee and take on the role of Chair.

The Chair will hold the Board and Executive Team to account for the Charity’s mission and vision, providing inclusive leadership to the Board of Trustees, ensuring that each trustee fulfils their duties and responsibilities for the effective governance of the charity. The Chair will also support, and, where appropriate, challenge the Chief Executive and ensure that the Board functions as a unit and works closely with the entire Executive of Watipa to achieve agreed objectives. (S)he will act as an ambassador and the public face of Watipa in partnership with the Chief Executive.

Watipa is hope. We are an international social enterprise registered in the UK, working to enable equal societies, just development, and equal health for all. Drawing on decades of experience in national and international development, we aim to creatively and collaboratively work to catalyse change and advocate to maintain what works responding to the dynamics and current realities of different contexts around the world. Watipa Charitable Incorporate Organisation oversees the scholarship and youth development program, which to date has supported approximately 50 scholars in Democratic Republic of Congo, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Nepal, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia. Watipa Charitable Incorporated Organisation is governed by a Board of twelve Trustees, who are based in the Australia, Canada, France, Kenya, Malawi, South Africa, Uganda and the UK.

Watipa Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) and has been a Registered Charity in England and Wales since 25 May 2017, and is supported by a social enterprise, Watipa Community Interest Company (CIC), that has been registered in England and Wales since 11 June 2016.
