In the UK this week we celebrated the 90th anniversary of Winnie the Pooh, the famous drawings and stories of a bear and his friends by A. A. Milne. To mark this anniversary, a new ‘friend’, penguin, has been written into the story.
One of the most cherished principles championed by Pooh bear is to dare to be different, or as he says in his words: “the things that make me different are the things that make me me.”
At Watipa, we are “us” and we are daring to be different in how we work and what we do.
Watipa combines expert level technical consultancy on a cross-cutting range of issues relevant for community development, such as health, gender equality, human rights, democracy, climate change and sustainable development. This multi-disciplinary approach is responsive to the complex needs of communities around the world, and differs from other consultancy groups that tend to specialise in only one area.
Watipa is also an ethical company, with minimal overheads and flexible working arrangements connecting the different members around the world.
Ten percent of all income generated by the consultancies is automatically invested directly into the scholarship fund.
It is with great excitement that we will launch the new scholarship program this week…. In some ways perhaps a new friend for Watipa, like the Penguin!
